Manchester Derby

It all started on November 12,1881. City versus United. Blue versus Red. The first match ended as a 3-0 win. Can you guess who won? United. After the Second World War, the rivalry began. In the 70's, the games were always bad tempered. The derby in December of 1970 almost resulted in Glyn Pardoe losing his leg after a George Best tackle broke his leg. The first derby in the 73-74 season resulted in Mike Doyle and Lou Macari each receiving red cards but refusing to leave the field. The referee then took both teams into the locker room until the two left the field. The game ended 0-0.  This proves the Manchester Derby is like nothing else.
