Newcastle vs. West Brom Summary

Today was a big day for Newcastle and there battle for survival in the Premiership. After today's well deserved 3-2 win over West Brom, Newcastle climbed to 13th in the table with 27 points from 25 games played. Damien Duff started the scoring in the 2nd minute for the Magpies after a woeful defensive play on West Brom's part. Duff's shot went right through keeper Scott Carson's leg, which we have seen a couple times this year. It's unbelievable that he is getting an England call-up over West Ham keeper Robert Green. After a West Brom equaliser from Marc-Antoine Fortune, Newcastle came right back, and got there second goal in 9 minutes when another West Brom defense mistake led to an easy right footed strike by Peter Lovenkrands. After a scoreless 30 minutes, Steven Taylor headed home after he got away from Abdoulaye Meite. Fortune grabbed a second goal in the seventy third minute, but West Brom couldn't snatch a third goal, and Newcastle came away with the 3-2 victory. Tow things we can take from this game, West Brom's defense is probably the worst in the league, and they will go down!!!! Well done lads!!!
