Valon Behrami had a left-footed strike inside the 18 yard box in the 44th minute to give West Ham  a 1-0 lead over Hartlepool before a Mark Noble penalty sealed the deal for the Hammers.

Torquay United vs. Coventry City

Elliot Ward hit a late winner for the Sky Blues to book a place in the 5th round .

Kettering Town vs. Fulham

Simon Davies, Danny Murphy, Andrew Johnson, and Bobby Zamora all got a goal in the Cottagers 4-2 win over Kettering Town. Craig Westcarr had a brace for Kettering Town.

Sunderland vs. Blackburn

The Black Cats and Rovers played to a goalless draw at The Stadium of Light. 

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Middlesbrough

Alfonso Alves and Marvin Emnes scored for Boro in their 2-1 win over Wolves.

Sheffield United vs. Charlton Athletic

United squeezed out a 2-1 win over Charlton at the Bramall Lane. Danny Webber and Lee Hendrie scored for Sheffield United.

Portsmouth vs. Swansea City

Fa Cup holders Portsmouth crashed out of the Cup at Fratton Park. Swansea beat them 2-0 with goals from Nathan Dyer and Jason Scotland.

West Bromwich Albion vs. Burnley

West Brom played to a 2-2 draw with Burnley with Robert Koren and Do-heon Kim scoring for the Baggies.

Chelsea vs. Ipswich Town

Michael Ballack had a brace and Frank Lampard added a goal to give Chelsea a 3-1 win over Ipswich at Stamford Bridge.

Hull City vs. Milwall

Michael Turner and Ian Ashbee goals gave Hull a 2-0 win over Milwall at the KC Stadium.

Watford vs. Crystal Palace

Watford won a 7-goal thriller against Crystal Palace 4-3 at Vicarage Road.

Doncaster Rovers vs. Aston Villa

The two teams played to a goalless draw at the Keepmoat Stadium.
