The kickoff was at 1:50 pm. Both teams desperately needed the 3 points, and new FC Dallas manager, Schellas Hyndman was looking for a win on his debut. New York came out testing Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala, pushed away a Sinisa Ubiparipovic volley from 16 yards out. Later, Dane Richards ran on to a Hunter Freeman throw in, and sent a cross in the box, where another Ubiparipovic attempt was stopped for the game's first corner kick. In the 16th minute, Ubiparipovic  forced Sala into another diving stop, which went out for the second corner of the game. The corner, which was taken by Ubiparipovic was sent over Sala's head, to the far post where Kevin Goldthwaite headed the ball home for the Red Bulls 1-0 advantage. But in the 24th minute, Goldthwaite slowly walked off the field with a pair of strained hamstrings. Another injury, to go with Juan Pablo Agel and Claudio Reyna. :(  Let's go Bulls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
